Our Story
Three Decades of Getting It Right
Smart Electrical Contractors has been a trusted name across the Illawarra since 1991. What started as a local electrical business built on quality workmanship and honest advice has grown into a full-service contractor covering residential, commercial and industrial work — all under one roof.
In 2025, founder Mark handed the business over to William Forrest, who carries on the same trusted, customer-focused approach the business has always been known for. The name over the door may have changed, but the standards haven't: same reliable service, same honest advice, same pride in every job.

The Person Behind the Work
When you call Smart Electrical, you're dealing with someone who genuinely cares about getting the job done right. I'm William Forrest, and in 2025 I took over Smart Electrical Contractors from founder Mark carrying on a business that's been looking after the Illawarra since 1991.
For me, being an electrician isn't just about the wiring. It's about turning up when I say I will, explaining things in plain English, and taking pride in every job whether it's a single power point or a full commercial fit-out. Fully licensed, fully insured, and always up to date with the latest standards — but at the end of the day, I'd rather be known as the bloke you can actually trust to do it properly.
